My Electric Yellow Holding?

hi all..i just bought 4 electric yellows 2 days ago and i think that one of the females is already holding...her mouth is enlarged like she has a mouth full of food but she hasnt been eating and is staying in a quiet part of the tank..so i'm just wondering how u can tell if she is holding and if u guys think that she might be and how long i should wait till i move her to her own tank..thanks w00t.gif

If you look really close at her mouth you will see the eggs in her mouth. I would say if you can catch her, move her to a different tank.

Sounds like she may be holding. Does her mouth look anything like this?


If so, you've got eggs. shout.gif

Since she's newly added, I'd probably move her right away, IMO it would be less stressful than to move her after she's already gotten established. Just be sure to move the rocks around before adding her back in after she spits that way the other fish won't pick on her. Here are some great articles on breeding and raising fry.
