buenos aires tetra and cardnal ?, are they cool with each other

are buenos aires tetras and cardinal tetras compatible ? one of my 2 buenos aires tetras is a bit nippy, but im not even sure if it is a buenos aires tetra bec. it doesn't touch my plants. smile.gif just wanna know

Buenos Aires Tetras are among the more nippy of the tetra clan. They are larger then most as well. Front toothed bites are always more serious then other fish. I would never advise BA Tetras with trailing fin fish - but they are not overly aggressive. In a large enough group, 5+ fish, BA´s are fine.

so when i purchase cardinal tetras i should get at least 5 ? or more so that the buenos aires wont hunt em down or i buy 5 buenos aires tetras ? hmmmm maybe i should transfer them to another tank smile.gif hehe what fishes are compatible with BA tetras ? mollies ? but i was looking for more of a cardinal tetra type slow moving fish smile.gif i have a small tank u see and the BA is the product of my dad's visit to the LFS hehe smile.gif

Most of the tetras are schooling/shoaling fish so I would always advocate keeping a group of 5 or more.
