I posted this in the cyprinid section 2 days ago but as I've had no response, I'm posting it here to see if anyone can help me!

Last night I noticed that one of my glowlight tetra is swimming strangely. It's moving like a 'see-saw' when it's swimming and when it's not swimming it doesn't seem to be able to keep still and it's very shakey. It doesn't 'hover' anymore like my other glowlights.
It's not missing any fins, is eating normally. I checked the water last night and everything is fine. It's red stripe is a bit lighter than usual and maybe it's gills are a little red (but I could just be paranoid!).

It's is in a 15 gal(us) with 2 other glowlight
6 neon tetra
5 black neon
2 albino cory

Does anyone have any ideas??

Thanks

Ok, so my glowlight is still not well, when it's not swimming it can't stop shaking, it's worse than it was yesterday and now one of my neon has a white lump on it's mouth but apart from that it seems ok but is attacking the other neon.

Checked water stats again this morning and everything is ok still.

Can anyone help??

Sounds like it ould be some sort of bacterial infection, esp if another fish has a white growth. What are your stats for amonia, nitrite and nitrate? How often do you change water?

I do a 25% water change every week

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0.25ppm
Ph 7.5
Temp 78

Your nitrate reading doesn't lok right, I'd expect a higher reading than that, any chance you could do it again?

Have you introduced any new fish recently?

Oops blush.gif My mistake, should have said 25 for nitrate.
I haven't added any new fish for at least 3 months.
My glowlight is now hiding behind the filter and the neon is hiding under some plants. They don't look good, especially the glowlight.

Is the fish losing weight? Still inclined to think it's bacterial, interpret anit internal bacteria probably the best course of action, 50% water change before starting treatment. good luck.
