I was wondering why green neon tetras arent more popular than neons/cardinals as their stripe is so much better and vibrant. Surely there must be some drawbacks???? thz

they aren't as readily available- They are the best tetras!!!!!!!!!

Ive never heard of a green neon tetra but i know that cardinals and neons are very popular.

drawbacks are

saw these im my lfs last weekend, they looked amazing if i had my planted tank still i would of had them.

Green neon's - Paracheirondon simulans
are generally wild caught therefore most of the time being a seasonal fish. Ive been trying to import them at where i work and they are still not being fished shouldn't be too soon now tho. They are not as hardy as normal neon species but shouldn't be hard to keep in a matured softwater aquarium, ive found tanning the water helps allot with stress on them, and as silly as it sounds can colour them up better. Great fish !!!!!!!!! |

Ive been conditioning a group of 20 for spawning but i can't get them going.Are you keeping them at a high temp or keeping them low. my Ph is around 6 at the moment and have got spawning mops in there. im eager to know because they are jst stunning, hope you can help. matt |
