Not expecting many if any replies, not the most stimulating of threads but...............

wanted to share this and give a good recomendation

I got a very densely planted 89 US Gallon / 300 litre Community Set Up, a while back i bought a small tank and amongst other stuff it had a single Glowlight who the owner called "lone ranger" LOL as all the others had died off

I put him in the my 89 Gallon, but on the same day decided i should get him some Glowlight Buddies, so got x4 more, normally i wouldn't look twice at a Glowlight in the LFS, they always next to the Neons or Cardinals and look very dull and plain.

BUT, BUT, oh i love these guys in my planted tank, i also have a load of neons in there, but i think i actually rate my glowlights as more attractive overall (well i spend more time watching my x5 Glowlights than my x15 Neons). They seem to look SO, SO different in a heavily planted tank than they do in the LFS, i know it sounds obvious, but i just wanted to say, if you debating between tetra's and have a really nice planted set up, try Glowlights!!!

I have a lot of Java Fern and Moss Balls, so the tank has a definite dark green look, and i think the dark green really makes the Glowlights look ace, in my tank i have x4 40" tubes on top, at night when i am reading in bed, i turn off x3 tubes for a bit and just leave one on, and the Glowlights look even better....

Oh look at me, shall i change my name to Glowlight_Lover

These pics do no justice and sorry for the blurryness, but to give you a slight idea (some pics from my set-up that i refer to)

I LOVE glowlights, and I've only ever seen them in the LFS. Then again, my favorite color IS orange. smile.gif

i love these. i have more of these than neons. they are a beautiful fish, but i suggest stearing away from a golden brown colored gravel. they almost blend in with his color.

im guessing the glare of the dealers tank lights probably has an affect on the way they look. And i imagine you treat yours better aswell. i havnt got any glowlights but i think ill get some soon!

They look AMAZING under the tank lights, like glowlights but more red than orange, try and check them out - better still, buy some!
