Hi,

Where can I get my CO2 bottles filled ?

I know lots of people (including myself) have asked this question in the past.
I've done a good bit of searching in my own area Nr Loughborough & Leicester and a bit further around the East Midlands. When asking the stores I've tended to ask about JBL (or similar bottles) and not CO2 fire extinguishers or larger 'pub' bottles.

Hopefully this list might be of use to some.......

East Midlands:

===================YES They fill CO2 bottles =================================

Maidenhead Aquatics (Stapleton, Nr Hinckley): YES - genuine JBL bottles only. (Turnaround approx 5 - 7 days on bottles, unless already in stock for a swap)
http://www.fishkeeper.co.uk/

Clearwater Aquatics (Leicester): YES. Can provide a custom built pressurised system (2Kg bottle), will only refill the bottles they supply. NOT JBL bottles
www.clearwateraquatics.co.uk
Tel: 0116 274 3426

Ocean commotion ( Leicester): YES. Sell and refill JBL pressurised systems.
But 1 or 2 week turnaround on bottles (Tues -Tues) Tel: 0116 244 8382

======================= NO They dont ====================================
Coalville Aquatics (Coalville): NO
Ashby Aquatics (Ashby De La Zouch): NO
Birstall Aquatics (Leicester): NO
Bardills Water Gardens (Nottingham): NO
Ocean Waves Of Newhall Ltd (Swadlincote): NO
Water Works Aquatic Centre, Staunton Harold Nurseries (Ashby De La Zouch): NO
A5 Aquatics: (A5, Nuneaton, Warwickshire): NO
Friends In Soggy Homes, Syston: NO
Wharf Aquatics PInxton (Notts): NO
Leicester Aquatics (Leicester) NO (But can order pressurised systems, but not refill bottles)
Dobbies Garden Centre (Atherstone, Warwickshire): NO
===================================================================

Feel free to add any contacts in your area ....................

Would love to know somewhere in Manchester area / North West that will refill 2kg JBL.....

Only a suggestion , but Mr G. Would be great if you could collect all the information people are posting into the your initial post so that all the information is together and easy to see.

Chris, Agreed, I'd thought about compiling a full list once there have been a few replies.
I've seen so many people asking this question that I thought I'd see if together we can get a bit of a list sorted out.

I rang a few in my area ......one even said "we dont do CO2" ... only carbon dioxide wacko.gif ( we've obviously got a long way to go !)
When I questioned her further, she meant Nutrafin !

I believe that Maidenhead Aquatics are able to fill the 2KG JBL bottles (genuine JBL only), however I dont think there is a Maidenhead in your area no.gif

Not that I know of, just the welding cylinders, but worth an ask I guess. The 12lb cylinders are done on the typical swap basis, take an empty one, swap for a full one.

North London

Wildwoods, Crews Hill, Enfield

will refil anything from there big bottle. any brand as long as it's the standard fitment.

my 500g dennerle bottle costs £10 to refil from there. they refill your bottle rather than swapping it for a new one!

they also exchange new for old JBL's

A bit of a Bump I know but this thread seems really worthwhile...

I will shortly be recieving my Dennerle pressurised CO2 system with a 500g cannister. Does anybody know of anywhere in South Wales that can refill these at a reasonable price? Or in the Bristol/Bath area as I seem to live between the two.

Thanks Dave.

Try aquajardin over at J12 of the M5, they stock Dennerle products, so can probably do refills, but worth a phone call first to check. Just google aquajardin for their website.
