I'm thinking about setting up a 10 gallon aquaraium and putting some females into it, how easy would this be to do without cycling tank and how often approx. would I have to change water? I figure between 8 to 10 days but thats only a guess.

I was also wondering how many females would be the best to put into the tank? + I have heard the tank should be well planted with plenty of hiding places, I have approx. 3-4 small to large silk plants and 3-4 ornaments which they can hide into, would this be enough hiding places for the girls to hide in?

I have been doing some thinking and I thought about using the tank divider that I bought a few months at Petsmart and getting 2 males. If I kept the tank bare bottom could I just syphon 90% of the tank and then add clean water or would I have to change it all the way.
