Looking to upgrade my current 14g community set up to full planted. However the hood houses only one 15W T8 (eheim aquastar 60 tank) and due to a facility to incorporate an autofeeder, it seems impossible to fit another 15W tube in to up my light to 2.1WPG
So what I'm asking is, does anyone have any tips / ideas on how to make a cheap DIY hood capable of housing 2 15W t8 tubes (tank is 60x30x30) JC This post has been edited by joecoral: Aug 1 2007, 11:28 PM |

Bog standard "box" types are easiest to make... just 4 bits of skirting board, and board the top... I did my last one with old bed slats, which were about 4 inch wide, glued the rear pair and added a hinge to the front one for access and feeding etc... but it was a bit of a design booboo, not enough room really, so I am going to redo it - keeping the hinged front third, but allow the whole top to either hinge too, or be removable...
