hi all,
1. im happy coz my auratus is holding
2. i stripped some of the eggs and was nervouse that something would happen to the mother so left her alone.
3. i noticed that after i released her she's floating she is balanced, not totally floating, like when she goes down automatically goes up. sad.gif why is that??? can they swallow air?? will she be alright?

remember this is my first time cichlid got eggs so.......

oooo forgot one more thing she's like a week holding until i noticed (maybe more)

She might have swallowed some air while you were stripping her. I'd keep a close eye on her and hopefully she'll be back to normal in a day or two. good.gif

Its hard to say, but in the future I would just take her out and put her in another tank. I prefer to let her spit the fry herself, the fry will be fne with her in the tank for a week or so.

How many eggs can a first time mother lay?
After she had released them will she take care of them like preventing predators etc.
can i let her release them in the tank where all same species(auratus) or will they pick on them?
