So it's a myth that female swordtails chnge sex, if there's a shortage of males.
I've had a single red female for almost a year (she was one left in a shop moving premises) and in that time has produced only one suviving offspring (unlike the platies), which was a replica of her self. Her 'daughter' is almost ayear old, too, but last month, grew a gonopodium and dark tail markings. 'She' is now a quite impressive boy. |
