Can you send me your pictures through email? My email is "pompey_king@hotmail.com"

I'll take a look as soon as I can.

Hi there, w00t.gif again thanks for getting back to me on my pics. Did you see my tank I think they all look happy. Apart from that neon the other neons still have that kind of flickering action about them. Sometimes I feel I see things in my tank that are not really there if you know what I mean. I know you have to be on top of things and looking for things all the time. Sometimes you have no time to enjoy them cos you are worrying about them all the time. Its an horrible feeling when you see a dead one in there you feel you have failed. I wounder if thats just me being me or if you feel that too? I have got a small tank that floats in the water of the tank but I was told not to put them in there for to long it stresses them out. I will try that medication in there thou to help that one recover faster love her. good.gif

You do have to be on the lookout for everything. The behaviour of the fish, symptons of illness. Anything could be around the corner. You can always relax if you don't see anything though. smile.gif

Depending on how big the floating tank is you may or may not want to keep it in there. I'd say the best thing would probably be a breeding trap/net that can stay in the tank. Then treat the tank melafix. Possibly your best option.

It looks as thou the neon is still laying eggs its been three days now is that normal? I know they will get eatten and there is no chance of us having babies in there. Thats partly why we had these kind of fish. When we set up our smaller tank (1st tank) 60l we had a molly have babies it was cool at first. But she was eatten them and the water was not good enough for them. So they all dyed in the end. It was to sad see that happen so we decided to no go throu that again. How long have you had fish? We had ours now for almost a year we are always learning do you ever stop learning stuff? Someone said to put baking soda in the lower the ph we didnt do it cos it sounds odd. Have you heard about this?

Livebreeders are easy to mate and to give alive. I've done it successfully 4 times.
I've been keeping fish for almost three years now, But I read up a lot about fish keeping before I got them to make sure I was capable of doing it, and in those 3 years I have had a lot experience with livebearers and diseases. noexpression.gif
You'll never stop learning, there's always more fih you haven't kept and diseases you haven't seen.

Never heard about putting baking soda in to do it. You'll have to search the internet for that one, I tend to stick to the shop bought chemicals that work.

Em thats what I thought it sounds a bit dodgy to me. I went to a place in newkey to look at sea fish. I was taken back I never wanted to keep fish before this. I have always kept guniea pigs, rabbits and dogs so to have fish I was clueless. I had the buzz from seeing all these fish, when I come home I rushed out with my friend to buy a tank. I really didnt have a clue, I thought get the tank and just put fish in. But no its all complicated in it? I wanted a minmo fish and to be told I had fresh water and not salt water so I couldnt have them was a disapointment. Then all the fish after that I pointed out I couldnt have they was not hard enough for my first fish. I give up and got my boyfriend to pick em out. Have you ever thought of having salt water fish? they seem so much nicer colours dont they nice and bright? Thats another step up though for me for defo.....

It's not really complicated. You just gotta wait a little while to cycle a tank. The only fish you can really put some water in a tank then put the fish in is goldfish, which look pretty boring.

I have never wanted to keep salt water fish. I fear it would be too much maintenance for me to handle. For me freshwater tropical fish is fine. I have now got 3 tanks and more to come. I'm a hoarder.
Never really seen a difference in colours but I guess there would be stranger fish in salt water.

I would have more tanks but my boyfriend and I get really stressed enough when there is something going on in the tank we dont understand and that is coursing the fish stress. wacko.gif You should be proud you got 3tanks going and you are able to cope. biggrin.gif We have seen fancey goldfish that we liked thou. We was tempted to put em in our tank. blush.gif Would that work thou or whould they dye? I bet you spend all your time and money on your fish. Are they all in the same room. We sometimes find our self watching the fish instead of the tv. Mind you it is more exiting in it? w00t.gif

I don't tihnk you can keep goldfish and tropical fish together, as I think the temperature would be too high. there are probably more things why you shouldn't but I don't know them.
Time yes, Money yes. They're all in the same room so it's pretty easy to check them all. I have 4 tanks now and should have 5th (3ft tank - 15g) by sometime next weekend, hopefully. Getting to sleep is a nightmare as they're loud.

I have a swivel chair - when I get bored of the tv and pc I spin around and look at them. It's very interesting.

They are noisy arnt they just having one is bad enough. My friend sugested I keep my 60l tank but I know I would have been pulling my hair out. So I decided to sell it on ebay let someone else get use out of it. I wanted a small hospital tank which I could also breed guppies in but my guppies dyed in the end and my boyfriend wouldnt let me have any more. We both decided not to get any fish that we had that dyed easy ie guppies, mollies, sordtail. As you breed your fish I expect you dont buy them often. I would really love to breed them thou may be I will one day. Do you have live plants in yours? We had a neighmare with them I was buying new ones every other week they was just rotting in the tank.

I did have live plants but I found I couldn't kepe them as the tank didn't have enough lights in the top to keep them alive. So I switched to fake, silk plants.

I haven't ever hasd egg layers breeding in my tanks yet.
She could be taking her time to lay the eggs if she's stressed. If you can put her somewhere where she can be alone with lots of hiding places then that would be best, the take her out when she has finished, if she doesn't change then more picture will be needed a maybe treatment.

I tried my best to take some pics but I cant seem to get a good enough one. I cant seem to catch her to put her in the breeding tank she is very fast. She is hiding in the plants so she is away from the others. The others dont seem to be bothering her either so I give up. I wanted to put meds in for her but my boyfriend dont want to put it in. cos he said the ph levels are high and oxigen levels will be low putting meds in will lower oxigen levens even more. This may course the other fish stress as well leaving us with more sick fish!! I put in fish loss every time I change the water this helps the fish recover from any cuts. WHAT DO YOU CALL A FISH WITH NO EYE FSH! HE HE HE THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE THAT!

And an air stone and add some melafix. Thus raising the oxygen levels and medicating your neon. It won't affect the other fish.

I will have to buy some of that melafix it sounds like you swear by it. My neon with the gash dyed thats two this week now. We thought we was doing well to never mind. I have decided not to get any more neon what ever happens. We got garamis in there, is it possible they could be getiing attached by these? I know they are a lot bigger then them. Do you get many dead fish in your tank?

Melafix is doing an awesome job on my bettas. Getting their fins nice and tidy.

I had 21 neon tetras at one point, after adding them to my main tank I'd say within 2 weeks they had all died. I had no idea how. I had 4 surviving fish. So had to start practically from scratch.
Wouldn't know about the gouramis but I guess look out for any nipping, neons are too small really for big fish.

Emmm dont sound like neons are the fish to have then! We added them to our tank first cos they said they was hardy but I dont know about that now. I have noticed the flying fox going for them now I have been watching them. When we find dead fish in the tank the eyes have been eaten out is that normal? Its horrible to descover thats for sure. We did have a clown lurch in their I liked him but he dyed I would like some of them if my neons dye. Hows your new tank going? w00t.gif
