Are they a pair Ryan? Looks like the one in the foreground is a male, but not sure about the one in the rear (blackened up so you can't see its marking).
Hope my sevs get as beautiful as this in a year or so Ox This post has been edited by ox5477: Jun 19 2008, 04:54 PM |

Are they a pair Ryan? Looks like the one in the foreground is a male, but not sure about the one in the rear (blackened up so you can't see its marking). Hope my sevs get as beautiful as this in a year or so Ox Thanks! They do behave as a perfect pair for my shiny silver camera as it follows them around in "video" mode (better flash free pictures, and without the infrared auto-focus), but I'm pretty sure they're both males... even though they occasionally will do some courtship behavior (waggling, touching, locked lips once). They both have really long dorsal and ventral fins, and blue squiggles on their faces. They get along mostly OK. The more colorful one one in the foreground can be a bit of a bully at times, but the one behind is just the genuinely happy and friendly fish. As soon as I can get another big tank, I'll likely split them up. These are the first cichlids we've owned, and they've been lots of fun. We've had them for 8 months now. I got them snagging food out of my finger tips this past weekend. -Ryan |
