QUOTE(The-Wolf @ May 9 2006, 06:09 PM) I signed up but it is very confusing and extramly slow; also it only shows london not my area on the zoom in. waste of 15 mins! You're not using it in the most effective way. In the top left you have a directional movement button, and below it a zoom ladder. Click halfway up the ladder, down a bit, right a bit, zoom some more, move around a bit, move some more. 30 seconds it'll take. By the end of it, you'll probably be able to see your house Wolf... |

Any way to advertise this? I.e. mass pm, which I realize is something mods try to stay away from... |

A pin would do the trick, not sure if that's an option?
@ The wolf, you're not hitting the button in the middle of the left/right/up/down arrows are you? That resets the map. The zoom is the ladder looking thing under the arrows, the arrows themselves just shift the map left/right/up/down to varying degrees according to how zoomed in you are. Come on man! |

I will consider this when I move back to Miami. Right now it makes no sense to add my location when I am moving in 3 weeks. |

Well... for people who overlook the pins, have stopped caring due to the rampant thread pinnings, or like me tend to forget to look at pinned articles when asking questions, pins are useless for advertising anything or disseminating information.

Well done guys, we're up to 43 members and 20 fish stores. Keep them coming, let's make this a really decent resource.
Nice to see a few Aussies on there too. |

Okay, I have a question.
By the way, I'll pin this, but there's so much on top of the forum already...I'll figure out something. |

QUOTE(Annastasia @ May 19 2006, 12:46 PM) Okay, I have a question. Click on MyFrappr at the top, then down the left you have My Profile, which has edit profile in it. In your basic profile options you can edit your position, and save the marker. You can get it to a very very detailed level in this section. Find my marker in Bristol UK (zoom in to the 11th rung on the ladder, then move due East 5 "clicks"- I've always wanted to use that expression, can knock it off my list of things to do before I'm 30 lol), and keep zooming in. No joke I can see my front door in this image (my house is not precisely where I marked it for anonymity reasons), although the photo was taken at least 3 years ago (no lights at the roundabout). Then find the TFF map, and remove yourself from it. Then click add myself on the right hand side, and your new, accurate marker will be on there. Once you've added a marker for a fish store to the basic world city (including address etc), you should now find it in the "places" tab of the map markers towards the bottom right of the map. Click on your new place, then click "edit", and refine the marker position on the little map to the right to put it in precisely the correct place. Now whenever someone else clicks the place, it'll take them straight to a detailed satellite image of the LFS. I'm going to copy this to the first post. Oh, thanks! I figured it out. Took a bunch of random clicks, but it worked.

I added myself and my LFS. I think it is a great idea to put general location. You never know who lives near by that you can share your hobby with.

Good Deal. Wish we were a bit thicker on the ground though. I just added the four fish stores I go to, and there's no one in the greater DC Metro area but me.

I think I'll try to at least put in some stores or something or just lurk about and see where everybody else lives, but I'm a little scared of tryin it after all that stuff about slow computers, and i still haven't gotten in my ramble about personal fish situations yet, that might take a while at the rate I'm going. (by the way, those are adorable pandas, squid)
